Natural Born Killer
It was pretty hot here in Atlanta this weekend so I pretty much stuck to places that had the AC going. I spent the entire weekend shopping, which wasn't as bad as it might sound. I bought some clothes for Erica's wedding, a washer and dryer, and a futon frame. I also bought some Raspberry syrup so I can make shaved ice just like I had in Japan. Raspberry was the only fruit flavor I could find but so far it's been really refreshing. I need to pick up melon, tarro, or banana flavoring for the true Japanese experience though.
Anyway I forgot to mention an interesting anecdote, that Dan can corroborate. About a month ago when my car caught on fire, I ended up just junking it in Nashville at a auto salvage place that was actually closed for the day. I called the salvage place the next day and they agreed to take the car off my hands. Apparently later that day there was a news report of a murder a couple of blocks away from the salvage place. And the killer got away in a mid 90s white 4 door sedan. The kid running the salvage yard who just accepted custody of a very similar car called the police and had them check out my car for DNA and fingerprints. They must have a pretty good CSI team in Nashville, because they quickly ruled out my car as a suspect.
Anyway I thought it was interesting...

Oh great... I'm sure they ran my prints too... looks like those warrants out for my arrest are going to finally catch up to me. Back into hiding I go... under the name Ethel. If the FBI calls, you don't know me.
Not all apartments are shit holes. Some actually come with a washer and dryer.

No...I walked into Best Buy and proudly said, "Give me you cheapest washer and dryer." Then they said that'll $511.46, and I said ok.
It was that easy.

That doesn't sound like any Best Buy I've ever been to. What about the extended warranty, and mail-in rebates and shit? Those high schoolers must be slacking.
